Sri Chowdeshwari Devi – The Divine Mother of Power

Sri Chowdeshwari Devi is revered as an embodiment of Shakti (Divine Power) and is worshipped as an incarnation of Goddess Durga in Hindu tradition. She is especially venerated in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. The communities of Devangas and Togata Veera Kshatriyas regard her as their presiding deity, and devotees worship her as a compassionate mother who protects and blesses her followers.

Origin of Sri Chowdeshwari Devi

According to legend, a devotee named Devala was once attacked by fierce demons. In distress, he prayed to Adi Shakti (the Primordial Goddess) for protection. The Divine Mother appeared, destroyed the demons, and saved her devotee. Thereafter, this powerful manifestation of the Goddess came to be known as Chowdeshwari or Soudeshwari.
